MAPS

Mapping Academic Pathways for Success (MAPS) is a program at COM that supports first-year students. We want your transition into college to be as smooth as possible. MAPS provides students with a peer mentor, counselors, resources, fun events, and so much more!

PUENTE PROJECT

The Puente Project, a national award-winning program, for 30 years has improved the college-going rate of tens of thousands of California's students. The English course will provide reading and writing assignments related to Latino issues and authors. The Counseling course and counselor will help prepare you for transfer.

STEM

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) support students to engage and transfer in STEM fields, with an extra focus on supporting those who are first-generation, under-represented in STEM fields, or a part of existing learning communities. Opportunities for engagement include tutoring, mentoring incoming students, conducting and presenting on summer research, and developing community through activities.

UMOJA

Umoja is a community of educators and learners committed to the academic success, personal growth, and self-actualization of African Americans and other students. The Umoja Community seeks to educate the whole student body, mind, and spirit. Informed by an ethic of love and its vital power, the Umoja Community will deliberately engage students as full participants in the construction of knowledge and critical thought.
